Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ok so how do you celebrate a milestone birthday year? well in my case instead of trekking to Everest Base Camp I ended up circumnavigating a local park 60 times clocking up just over 50km as Covid was in full swing.

So here I am 2 years later, 2 years older with a body thats definitely begining to feel its age, and 5 1/2 years since I booked onto this trip, FINALLY heading out to Nepal to trek up to Everest Base Camp.

The itinerary is hard, trekking at altitude ( up to 5357m or 17,500ft) for 14 of the 18 days for up to 10 hours a day with little or no modern day luxuries,(jeez im going to pong !!)  and camping in a tent in sub zero temperatures (did you know i suffer from claustrophobia so just sleeping in a tent in a sleeping bag is a complete nightmare)  This trip equally excites me as terrifies me, just the thought of flying into Lukla (the world's most dangerous airport) or crossing rope bridge after rope bridge makes me quake in my size 10 boots,  luckily my eldest son Andrew has decided to accompany me so we will have a shoulder to cry on when things get tough ( and I know they will for both of us)

Throughout covid I have continued with my walking  but with my now almost full time job, my diagnosis of osteoarthritis in my knees a year or so back and 2 full blown cases of covid i am sadely not as fit as I could be, but will give this challenge 100% as I usually do, after all I'm suppossed to be 'Unstoppable' :)

My fundraising has been supported by my annual events (Angels Walk and Angels Abseil), but again Covid has had a HUGE impact with in 2020 the abseil unable to take place and Angels Walk taking place in a smaller way with a virtual option, both coming back for 2021 but again with less signups as people were still feeling concerned. so your ongoing support is even more greatly appreciated as I set myself the task of raising £6000 as It seemed fitting with turning 60.

Just a reminder that 2 weeks after returning from Nepal I will be hosting the 10th anniversary of Angels Walk,  (https://fb.me/e/4Fi0pIqLI) so sign up quick to reserve your bespoke Zero Waste medal.

Just before I add the legal bits, |I just want to say in advance, thank you from the bottom of my heart whether this is your first time finding out about my crazy challenges or whether you're a repeat offender, I love you all, and so do all the children we help xxx

All funds raised will go towards supporting Childline one of the vital services provided by the NSPCC the Childline service is there to give young people a voice when no one else is listening. Whatever problems or dangers they’re facing, we’re a place for them to turn for support – any time of day or night, and is even in more demand currently due to effects coronavirus have had on all children.  This service can only continue thanks to the very generous donations from each and every one of you.

Ok looking forward to Event No 2 having completed the 10 mile Slindon Slog a few weeks ago, I now move onto the 'parkrun marathon' next Sunday 17th march, 8 parkruns from Worthing over to Seaford plus my very own Peacehaven juniors in one day which makes a total distance of 42 kilometres or in other words a WHOLE BIG MARATHON. I will be totally self supported, eating and drinking in the car between parkruns and just for fun I aim to wear a different pair of my now famous Tikiboo leggings at each one. Wish me Luck :)
